Just when you thought it was safeito be dead.
At the movies you can't keep the undead down. Brain-hungry zombies are resurrected with flair, style and humor in this sly sequel from writer/director Ken Wiederhorn (Eyes of a Stranger, Freddy's Nightmares).
A new generation of ghouls is spawned when a barrel of nerve gas, fallen off an Army truck, is cracked open by neighborhood toughs. The escaping greenish vapor turns the living into zombies and the dead into the not-so-dead. Of course, it seeps into the local cemetery...with groundbreaking results. See a severed hand on a spree in the back seat of a crowded car. Gasp as a zombie torso - and its missing legs - haplessly seek each other along a hospital corridor. Search no longer, fight fans: this deadfest is lively fun!

Same plot, new players - 3.25 out of 5 (10/5/2004)
There were a lot of people clamoring for the region 1 DVD release of RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD PART 2. And I would hazard a guess that come today, there are a lot of the same people who are wondering why we cared so much?
It's not as if it's a bad movie, but it's also not a very good one. The original ROTLD had it all going for it. It had a hot writer in Dan O'Bannon, it also had John Russo and Russ Streiner who helped bring the idea of zombie flesh eaters to the forefront with their work on

Not as good as the first - 3 out of 5 (10/21/2004)
Although this movie has some moments, it doesn't even begin to live up to the first one. If you're a fan of ROTLD you'll enjoy the reappearance of some of the main characters. Other than that, this movie goes downhill all the way. I would recommend renting this movie just so you'll be able to say you've seen the sequel to the first, but if you're expecting the same quality from the first, stay away from this film.
